Nadia and her team Nadia’s Cancer Crusadershave participated in the Light the Night Walk in southern California. To date, her team has raised more than $50,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an organization near and dear to Nadia’s heart. Twenty years ago this year, Nadia’s father, Ulf Bjorlin Sr. passed away from leukemia. He was a renowned conductor, composer, and artist – and most importantly, a father and husband.
A note from Nadia…
Thank you all who have graciously agreed to donate your time and money to such an important cause. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has always been near and dear to my heart. My father passed away from Leukemia when I was 13 years old, so I’ve experienced firsthand how devastating a blood cancer can be, and how profoundly it affects family and friends of those diagnosed. An astounding 148,040 people this year alone will be diagnosed, that’s one person every 4 minutes and over 9% of all cancer diagnoses.
By participating in the “Light the Night” walk, we are not only raising awareness and money, but we are potentially saving many lives. So, let’s keep fighting cancer and honor our loved ones in the process. Thank you.
Nadia guest starred on the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls in October 2013. She portrayed Pam, a model who shows up at the cupcake shop looking for her lost cat — and Max and Caroline have more than an inkling where the cute kitty might be.
Right off the bat what is interesting is that when you do meet Lara, it looks like she has it all together. This person is too good to be true. Usually the saying is, if something is too good to be true, it is. I guess it’s because I empathize with that character in the sense of her needing to feel like she has to have this image of perfection. She was raised in this family where a certain standard was expected of her, so I think she expects that of herself. She expects to not fail, and she expects to be perfect and be a literary genius, and have it all figured out. And still look good and dress well and be able to impress her girlfriend.
